Audrey was born November 6, 1935 in Hamlet, NC to the late Herndon Walter Thompson and Olive Audrey Sompayrac Thompson. She was a graduate of Meredith College and a member of First United Methodist Church of Cary.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dewey “Pete” Hornaday; son, John Hornaday; and daughter, Elizabeth Hornaday.
She is survived by her daughter, Katie Troutman and her husband, Brad Troutman; twin brother, Herndon Walter Thompson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Dylan Hornaday; Noah Hornaday; Megan Clark; and Kasey Clark; daughter-in-law, Renee Padgett; niece, Susan Thompson Longley; and nephew, Walter Thompson.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends 12-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
