Betty Joyce Mitchell

Betty Marse Territo Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and lived in Marrero and Harvey most of her life. She relocated to Cary, NC thirteen years ago to be with her daughter.

She was the daughter of Julien E. Marse and Lena Borne Marse who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas A. Territo and William F. Mitchell, brother Willie J. Marse Sr., sisters, Dora Belle Marse Bourg, Laurence Marse Carmadelle, Rose Marse Coulon and Marion Marse Bernard.

She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and Providence School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse who worked many years for a family doctor practice.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter Julienne Territo Stewart and husband Larry Stewart, her brother Julien E. Marse Jr. and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego, New Orleans, with burial to follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
