The son of the late David Eugene Cashion and Elizabeth Murphy Cashion, Don was born on November 21, 1939 in Freehold, NJ. An accomplished athlete, he received a baseball scholarship to attend High Point College and went on to earn a master’s degree at UNC Chapel Hill. He started his professional life in education, transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, and retired as a Vice President at GlaxoWellcome. While he had a highly accomplished career, the most important thing to him was always his family, whether it was time on the fairways and traveling with his wife or regular dinners with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sue Lynne of Cary; sons, Michael and wife, Lisa Berdan of Cary, David and partner, Stewart Searle of New York; granddaughters Alexandra and Anna of Cary; and brother, Wayne and wife, Carol of Toms River, NJ.
A funeral mass followed by a reception will be held on Wednesday, August 29th at 2:00 PM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC.
