

He was born July 27, 1927, in McDonald, PA, a son of the late Daniel A. and Florence (Carl) Caldwell, Sr. After serving his country in the Signal Corps of the US Army, Mr. Caldwell graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently was certified as a Registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Caldwell held supervisory positions as an engineer with U.S. Steel Corporation, Crucible Corporation, Cyclops Corporation, L.K. Comstock & Company, and Wean United (formerly United Engineering & Foundry). As Chief Construction and Service Engineer at Wean United he supervised the installation of rolling mill equipment in steel and aluminum plants in the United States, France, India, Romania, South Africa, Spain, and Turkey. He is a current member of the Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary and a former long term member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Jamison Caldwell and his sister Patricia C. Rohde. He is survived by a son, Daniel III of Atlanta, GA, a daughter, Janet Cremeans of Cary, NC, a sister, Betty McWreath of McDonald, Pa, and many nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church Columbarium, 2040 Washington Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241.
