Darrell Dean Moore

Darrell Dean Moore, age 85, died peacefully, surrounded by love ones on January 27th, 2025. He was born in Lanesboro, MN to Lloyd and Eunice Moore, on July 9, 1939. Darrell met his lifetime love, Anita Schmidt, in Plainview, MN. They were married for 65 years.

Darrell worked for IBM for 47 years, retiring in October 2005, as Senior Marketing Operations Executive. His career allowed him to live in MN, CA and now in North Carolina. He and the family have been active members of Resurrection Lutheran Church since 1984. Many would say Darrell was a friendly, respective fellow. One of great work ethic and good humor that could lighten the room. Always had time for friends and family.

Darrell is survived by his wife Anita. Together they had 4 children, Darrell Lloyd Moore (Cyndi), Dean Moore (predeceased), DeAnn Mata (Dan) and Lori Jannings. They have 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, with a 6th on the way. He is also survived by 6 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Moore family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Wake Med Cary Hospital and Transitions Hospice for their great care.

Visitation to be held at Brown Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on February 7 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral to be held at 1230pm on February 8 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 W Lochmere Dr, also in Cary. Followed by interment at Raleigh Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the Moore family would like donations be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church – please put Building Fund in the Memo.
