Delaine Marie Slater Ball

She was born April 20, 1931 in Aspen, CO a daughter of Frank and Helen Ogden Slater. She married Lauren Lester Ball and he preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen (and husband, Ricky) Oliver of Raleigh; two sons, Lester Allen Ball of VA, and William Jay Ball of TX; one sister, Cecilia Spear of CO; six grandchildren, Gordon, Lauren, Kimberly, Victoria, Blake, and Gaelon; one great-grandson; a longtime loving companion, Frank Petrowski of Jacksonville and his family: sons, Richard (and wife, Mildred) Petrowski of Newport, John (and wife, Kim) Petrowski of Jacksonville; daughters, Cathy (and husband, Jack) Hewitt of Swansboro, Anne (and husband, Starr) Lipe of NH, Patricia (and husband, Ricky) Petrowski Arwood of Jacksonville; 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Piney Plains Christian Church 2801 Piney Plains Rd. Cary, NC. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
