Delores Carroll Cotten

Delores was born to William and Beatrice Carroll on August 29, 1931 in Durham, NC. As an adult she worked at Muirhead Construction in Durham a few years and then went on to be the secretary at Northwoods Elementary School in Cary for 26 years.

Delores married E.L.(Buck) Cotten, Jr. in November 1948 and were together until Buck’s passing in January 1997.

Delores enjoyed going to Emerald Isle for pier fishing and collecting shells and visiting her grandson in Newport, NC and her grandson, granddaughter and great grandchildren in Branson, MO.

She is survived by daughters, Beverly C. Dillard and husband Rodney, Debbie C. Collins and husband Mark; grandsons, Brian Dillard and Josh Collins; granddaughter, Rachel Dillard; great grandson, Kai Dillard; great granddaughter, Madelyn Dillard; and five nieces.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 4 from 5:00-7:00PM at Brown-Wynne. Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Rd., Cary. Funeral service will be Wednesday April 5 at 2:00PM at The First Baptist Church of Morrisville, 209 Church St., Morrisville. Interment will be after the service at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd., Raleigh.
