Dolores was born in Asheboro, NC on June 26, 1936 to her late parents Ralph Allred and Gertrude Brady Allred.
In October of 1955, Dolores married Talmage Williams of Randolph County, NC. In addition to raising their three children and being a pastor’s wife who made churchgoers feel at home with her warmth and hospitality, she also pursued her own career. From 1971 to 1978, she was secretary and clerk for the Green River Baptist Association, Rutherfordton; from 1978 to 1985, she served as Secretary to the Minister of Education at First Baptist Church, Cary; from 1985 to 2000, she was the Assistant Director of Programs for International Visitors and Students for the School of Agriculture at NC State University; and from 2000 to 2004, she worked in partnership with Talmage as the On-site Coordinators for the Alaska/North Carolina Baptist Partnership.
Dolores lived a beautiful life full of laughter and adventure, and was adored by her family and her many friends. Those who love her will remember how fiercely she loved her family, how quick she was to laugh, how well she could tell a story, and how competitive she was at card games.
It gives us great comfort to imagine her reunited in eternity with her parents, her three brothers: Joaquin “Chub”, Jimmy, and Don Allred, and her beloved youngest daughter, Mary W. Keel (Alan).
She leaves behind her husband of a happy and committed 70 years, Talmage Williams, her daughter Debbie W. McDuffie (Rick) and son Mark Williams (Kym); her grandchildren: Sarah Dart (Mike), Faith Dwight (Simon), Catherine Dwight (Dan), Amanda W. Rocchio (Justin), Reed Williams, Brandon Keel, John Keel, and Aaron Keel; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
A burial service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, NC on Wednesday, February 26, at 11:00 am.
A celebration of her life will be held at Westwood Baptist Church, Cary, NC on Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Westwood Baptist Church at 200 Westhigh Street, Cary, NC 27513, or to Transitions LifeCare at 200 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC, 27607
