Donna Whitted Baldwin

Donna Whitted Baldwin, daughter of the late William Robert "Bootsie" Whitted and Margaret Wright Whitted, was born March 4, 1951 in Chapel Hill, NC. She departed this life on May 8, 2025, at home following an extended illness.

Donna was a graduate of the class of 1969 from Orange High School in Hillsborough. She spent many years in Sierra Vista, Arizona before returning home to North Carolina. Donna retired as a detention officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Hillsborough, after years of service.

Throughout her life, she developed many lasting relationships and lifelong friends from coast to coast. She was full of kindness and loved her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed mahjong, music, action movies, and old westerns.

Donna is survived by her son, Cleatus Haywood Baldwin III (Crystal); daughters, Chanda D. Baldwin and Cherise Baldwin Harrington (Benjamin); grandsons, Christopher E. Baldwin and Ernest Freeman; granddaughters, Adrianna M. Harrington, Arielle S. Harrington, and Cadeya Freeman; two sisters, Stephanie Coble (Desmond), Chesterfield, VA and Charlene Campbell (Jeffery), Hillsborough, NC; four brothers, Donald Whitted, Palm Springs, CA; Warren Whitted (Betty, deceased), Carrsville, VA; Robert Whitted, Hillsborough, NC; and Charles Whitted (Japonica), Hillsborough, NC; aunts and uncles, Marinda Wade, DeCarlo Wright, and Otis Wright; many nieces and nephews, great nephews and great nieces, sisters-in-law, and a host of cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gwendolyn Diane “Prunny” Parker.

A visitation for Donna will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A celebration of life will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A reception will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
