Edgar Lee Butler

Edgar Lee Butler, 57, passed away on April 8, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born June 24, 1952 in Clinton, NC to Quinton and Cleo Holland Butler. Mr. Butler graduated from Midway High School and Raleigh School of Data Processing. He was currently employed with Veritude. He was formerly employed with Cii and Progress Energy. Mr. Butler was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a former member of Swift Creek Exchange Club. He was an avid NC State fan and outdoorsman.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Susan White Butler; children, Chris Butler of Raleigh and Kim Butler Taormina (Mike) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Hunter and Holden Taormina of Charlotte; siblings, Pat B. Martin of Fort Washington, MD, Harold Butler (Margaret) of Salemburg, Brenda B. Hairr (Mack) of Salemburg and Travis Butler (Stephanie) of Winterville; and many nieces and nephew. In addition to his family, he is survived by his beloved chocolate lab, Blaze.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Lynda Kay Butler and Janice Butler Parker.

A memorial service will be held 3:00p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.
