Eula Mae Baumwart Ballard

Eula Mae was born August 26, 1927 in Clinton, OK to the late Glen and Alice Mingus Baumwart. Prior to WWII, she married William Howard Ballard, Sr. while he was stationed in the Navy in Clinton, OK. They later moved to Raleigh where her husband became a longtime illustrator for the News and Observer and NC State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; and a sister, Glendora.

Eula Mae is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Kay Hamilton and her husband, John of Melbourne, Australia; and Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Ballard of Cary; sons, John Robert Ballard and his wife, Diane of Raleigh; Bill Ballard, Jr. and his wife, Cherry of Cary; Michael Lee Ballard and his wife, Jean of Danville, VA; and Jeffrey Frank Ballard and his wife, Marget of Raleigh; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. Interment will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
