Faye Godbold

Faye is survived by her daughter, Barbara Godbold Lowrance;, grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Lowrance; her beloved cousin, Pam Francisco Sutterfield (George); daughter-in-law, Diane L. Godbold; sister-in-law, Edna Ruth Godbold Bowen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laddie and Myrtle Francisco; her husband,m F.E. "June" Godbold, Jr. and her son, Charles Steven Godbold.

Faye was born in Morrisville, NC, but moved to Cary when she was married in 1951. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cary for over 70 years. She taught children's Sunday School there and was a den mother for her son's Boy Scout troop. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Edith Chapter #160, for over 60 years. She retired from the N.C. Dept of Revenue in 1986 to stay home and care for her husband who was in poor health.

She kept every moment of her life filled with gardening, reading, sewing, needlework and always being there when any loved one needed her help. She loved cats and nearly always had one purring in her lap when she sat down to relax in the evenings.

She spent the last eight years of her life at Glenaire Retirement Community where she was very well cared for and loved by all who knew her.

As those she leaves behind mourn her loss, we also know we have been blessed to have been a part of her life.

A visitation for Emma will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church Cary, 117 S Academy St, Cary, NC 27511. A committal service will occur Monday, November 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 608 Page St, Cary, NC 27511.
