Frederick William Duthie

Frederick William Duthie, 83, died August 15, 2011. He was born on July 13, 1928 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He worked for Singer in Scotland and in the United States. He retired from Morganite Company. After retirement, he was Head of Volunteers at WakeMed Cary Hospital. He was a Scottish Mason. Fred was a very fun and outgoing person who was a friend to all. He will be greatly missed.

Fred is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann F. Duthie; 3 grandsons, Cameron W. Duthie, Stephan R. Duthie and Kevin A. Duthie; granddaughter, Angelica J. Garrett; great grandchildren; Allison G. Duthie, Noah A. Duthie and Abigail D. Duthie; brother, Graeme; sisters, Morag and Freida. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Addie “Bunny”.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine E. Kemp Duthie; son, Alex Duthie and sister, Sheila.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
