Halina Fortuniewicz, born in Poland on September 15, 1948, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on May 16, 2025, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia.
Having emigrated to Canada in 1963 with her brother, sister, and parents, Halina demonstrated her inherent work ethic by starting high school without a command of the English language. This work ethic sustained her through her life and carried forward into her over 40-year career as an Executive in the Automotive industry in New York.
Successfully battling Breast Cancer in 1999, Halina continued to play an instrumental role in the lives of so many people, using her heart of gold to show care, compassion, and love in every moment of her life.
Halina thrived on maximizing everyone’s untapped potential and ensured that everyone she encountered was sure of their virtually limitless capability, no matter the task at hand.
Halina is predeceased by her parents, Benedykt and Sabina Maksimowski, and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jan Fortuniewicz, Jr., her daughter Yolanda Bravo (Henry), son Mark Fortuniewicz (Regina), and her three loving granddaughters, Isabel Bravo, Katherine Fortuniewicz and Alison Fortuniewicz.
