James was born December 15, 1925 in Houlton, ME. He was a WWII veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving in the south pacific from 1943 to 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Lloyd Brown and Cora Wasson Brown; and brother, Eugene Brown.
James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Moreshead Brown; son, Douglas James Brown of Wake Forest; daughters, Cynthia Stone; and Carolyn Burke both of MA; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Woodland Terrace, 300 Kildaire Woods Drive, Cary, NC 27511.
