Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Weir and much loved daughter Janet Weir Sharp, and siblings in Scotland, brothers John, Alexander, David, George, Henry, James, and Archibald and her sisters Elizabeth and Marjorie.
She is survived by her brother Robert Stables of Irvine, Scotland, her daughters Elizabeth Weir Embry and husband Craig of Cary, NC; and Kathryn Weir and Kevin McCarthy of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; son-in-law John Sharp of Center Line, MI; grandchildren Michael Sharp and Stefanie Calvin of Center Line, MI; Matthew Sharp of Center Line, MI; Alexandra Embry of Boston, MA; and David Embry of Cary, NC.; dear family friend, Mrs. Muriel Sharp; her nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors in the Kramer Homes.
Janet met her loving husband, Louis Weir, during World War II, when he returned to Scotland on a weekend leave from the U.S. Army, to visit his cousin, who was Janet’s best friend. Louis was born in Wishaw, Scotland, and had immigrated to the United States with his family as a teenager. They fell in love. At the end of World War II, Janet immigrated to America to marry Louis and raise their family. They were married 43 happy years.
The family wishes to thank family and friends for their support and prayers as well as the nurses and aides of Heartland Home Health Care and Heartland Hospice Care for their guidance and gentle care of our mother.
