She was born as Tjan Jan Nio (Jeanne) on May 27, 1922, in Cimahi-West Java, Indonesia, formerly known as Dutch East-Indies, as the eldest daughter of the late Tjan Han Keng and Corrie Tan Swan Nio. She was married to the late Dr. Lie Djoe Eng (a.k.a Dr. Donan Sjahli) in 1949 and was blessed with 3 children: Young Sie of Toronto, Canada, Harry Lee of Montgomery, Alabama and Rachel Yan of Cary, North Carolina.
By God’s grace, she and her late husband accepted Christ and was baptized in 1989 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Throughout her life, she led a modest lifestyle and was very caring and attentive to her family, relatives, and friends. She had a strong faith in God and always provided moral support and encouragement to others.
After moving to the USA in 1992 she had lived with all of her children and was a joy and blessing to her loved ones. She will always be remembered as a sweet and loving person and will be greatly missed.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, spouse and 3 siblings and survived by the following family members:
