Chris and Jay, Janice was a wonderful person, and I have fond  memories of her. Summers at the pool and movies in the evening.  On one magical night, Janice introduced me to Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas. Everyone else was hanging out in the backyard while the two us huddled over the Carbonated Video rental.  This was my first foray into serious cinema. I never looked back and I have always appreciated  the art of filmmaking.  I will  remember  that she’d let a gangly 13 year old watch it with her.  She will be missed.  Thinking of you all.

Dear Uncle Jay and Chris,

I’ve been thinking about you both constantly and reflecting on just how much Aunt Janice meant to me. Some of my happiest memories are from those Saturdays playing at 12 Burleigh Drive, where laughter always seemed to fill the house, and the impromptu pool parties that somehow came together so easily because her door, and her heart, were always open. I still smile thinking about the summers at “Camp Tunstall” after you moved to Cary, weeks filled with fun, togetherness, and that unmistakable Janice energy that made everything feel special.

Her legendary happy birthday operas were such a perfect reflection of who she was, loud, joyful, and full of love, and they never failed to make me feel celebrated. She also had an incredible way of cheering me up when the chips were down, always knowing exactly what to say or do to lift my spirits. She made people feel seen, cared for, and at home.

I feel so grateful to have had her in my life and to carry these memories with me always. Please know I’m sending you both so much love, comfort, and strength during this incredibly difficult time.

Dear Uncle Jay, Chris and Family,

I wanted to share a few memories of Aunt Janice that have stayed with me over the years.

Most of my memories of her are from when I was a kid or a teenager, but they left a lasting impression. She always had that classic New York way about her—playful, sharp, and always busting chops. Her laugh was unforgettable, the kind that made everyone around her smile.

One memory that always makes me laugh is how she would flip my hat right off my head if I wore it at the dinner table, reminding me of my manners. It stuck with me more than she probably realized. To this day, I don’t allow my kids to wear hats at the dinner table because of her—and I tell them why. It’s a small thing, but it’s a lesson and a memory I’ve always respected.

Aunt Janice will always be in our hearts, and those moments will always be part of who we are.

Janice,  you were more than just a sister in law , you were a good friend. I will cherish our good times together and always remember you were there for.me when I needed a helping hand. I will miss you Janice, but you you will remain in my heart always.

We are so sorry for your loss and are sending you all our love and hugs. Aunt Janice had a way of making everyone laugh without even trying. Her humor was effortless, perfectly timed, and always genuine. She could lighten any room, turn ordinary moments into funny memories, and make people feel comfortable just by being herself. She brought so many great memories into our lives. We will miss her deeply, but we will always smile when we think of her.
