Jean was born on April 7, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Leo and Margaret Webb Pope. She was raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan and later moved and spent most of her life in Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Everett; sisters, Ann Little, Lottie Aho and Cleo Aho.
Jean is survived by her son, Patrick Gowdy and wife, Fran; daughter, Lana Ross; grandchildren, Michael Gowdy and Jill Howell; three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Wake Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7002 Green Hope School Rd, Cary, NC 27519. The family will receive friends 1-3pm Friday, December 9, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511.
