Born September 4, 1926 a son of the late Mr. John L. Miller and Mrs. Johnnie Miller.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A Research Scientist working with the Electron Microscope for years. He enjoyed woodworking building many beautiful clocks and model ships.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Emma Mai Ackerman Miller.
He is survived by his children in birth order, John L. Miller III (and wife, Ruth Thomas), Elaine Rietman (and husband, Art), Charles Christopher Miller (and wife, Sandra), Martha Lee Miller, Paul David Miller, Joseph Thomas Miller (and wife, Monica), Kathy Ann Bond (and husband, James), Rose Marie Heberly (and husband, Steve), Tony Miller, Emily Miller (and husband, Dwayne Smith); 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his sister, Erline Miller and his niece, Logania Norris.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. The family will receive friends following the service.
