

Joseph Reid Durbin, 93, of Raleigh died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Rosewood Nursing Home. Mr. Durbin was born in Fayette County, PA on April 8, 1920 to Clarence William Durbin and Nelle Flenniken Durbin.
Mr. Durbin was a Lieutenant in the U S Army Infantry in during WWII participating in four major engagements. He received a Silver Star and a Bronze Star for gallantry in action. He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Cary, and a member of Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Evie Durbin, daughter: Cathy Davis of Denver CO, grandchildren: Reid Davis and Whitney Davis; great grandchildren: Violet Davis and Keegan Davis; and a brother: John Durbin of FL.
He is preceded in death by a son: Judson “Chip” Durbin, brother: Bix Durbin and sister: Dorothy Fox.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S. E. Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Brown Wynne Funeral Home. Burial will be in Raleigh Memorial Park with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.
