

Morrisville, NC: Joy Thomas, 58, passed away on December 23, 2010 after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. Born on June 10, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee; she was the daughter of the late Teddie and Joyce Bass. She grew up in Garner, NC, graduating from Garner High School and went on to graduate from NC State with a degree in Economics. She was employed with Weyerhaeuser for over 30 years as a purchasing manager.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura T. Lutterloh and husband Charlie, of Pittsboro; her grandson: Mason Thomas Lutterloh; by Laura's father, Stephen Thomas, of Moncure, NC; her brother, Brian Bass and wife Tracy and their son, Cody, all of Garner; and by a sister-in-law, Judi Cartrette, of Fuquay-Varina. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Bass.
Joy will also be remembered by her dedicated and loyal circle of friends. The family is so thankful for the many years of support given to Joy. She considered you all her sisters.
Private services were held by the family.
For their gentle and loving care, the family would prefer memorial contributions be made in Joy's memory to Hospice of Wake County – 250 Hospice Circle – Raleigh, NC 27609.
