She was born in Raleigh on September 20, 1962 to Bob and Cynthia Longmire Johnson. Katherine had a forty- year long career in accounting, most recently with Baker Roofing Company. Graduating from George B.S. Hale High School, Katherine created lifelong friends with fellow Class of 1980 graduates. She went on to attend Peace University and East Carolina University. Despite her ECU pirate association, Katherine was a lifetime avid UNC fan proudly supporting Carolina Blue. A devoted and talented artist, Katherine loved creating, spending time with her animals, trips to Atlantic Beach, and travelling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Johnson.
She is survived by her loving mother, Cynthia Longmire Johnson, long time friends Pat Lore, Jennifer Stafford and Connie Banitt, honorary granddaughters Sadie Rose and Molly Eberlin, Nicole Shemiakina, and her Havanese fur babies.
