Kathryn H. Hood

Kathryn H. Hood received her crown of glory on September 7, 2010. She was born in the town of New Scotland, NY on July 13, 1927. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Kinney Hallenbeck, her father, LeRoy Hallenbeck, and brothers, Harold and Emerson, and sister, Marge Laskowski.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, LeRoy E. Hood, whom she married May 8, 1947, her daughter, Susan Patricia Barr of Atlanta, GA, her son, Sanford LeRoy Hood and his wife Michelle of Cary, NC, her granddaughter Savannah Jane Hood, her grandson, Richard Larkin and his wife Amber of Florida, her great granddaughter, Charlotte of Florida, her sister, Florence Hallenbeck of Voorheesville, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

A charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cary, she has been active in several church activities and a volunteer and supporter of the Meals On Wheels Program.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathryn’s life will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 3 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 West Lochmere Drive, Cary. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church/ School or Meals On Wheels.
