She earned a teaching degree from Southeast Missouri College in Cape Girardeau, MO, and began a fulfilling career as a kindergarten and later a third-grade teacher, shaping the lives of countless students with care and patience.
Mary was the beloved widow of Robert C. Kelpe, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. She was a shining example of unwavering faith and a loving mother to her children, David (Marsha) Kelpe and Barbara (Berk) Wilson. A devoted grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of nineteen, she treasured every moment spent with her expanding family. Mary was the daughter of the late Elmer and Irma Pott and is survived by her loving brother, James (Pat) Pott.
Throughout her life, Mary found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener, a skilled needleworker who created beautiful cross-stitch pieces, and a talented musician who played piano and organ for her Lord. She also loved to travel, exploring new places and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Upon retiring to Florida, she remained active and vibrant within her community at Lake Port Square in Leesburg. She engaged enthusiastically in Bible studies, musicals, and theatrical productions, sharing her light and warmth with all who knew her.
