Nancye ‘Nan’ Bowling Rodano, 71 of Cary, North Carolina passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021. She was a beloved mother, Christian, humanitarian, grandmother, free spirit, hardworking, humble, and ever so stubborn Mama Nan to many.
She was born on January 4, 1950 in Danville, Virginia to Millard ‘Jack’ Bowling and Lois ‘Elaine’ Bowling.
She attended George Washington High School and Danville Community College. She held a Bachelors Degree in Radiological Sciences from Florida Hospital of Health Sciences. She was indeed an eternal learner.
Nancye never met a stranger. She lived her life to the fullest even to the end. She was passionate about medicine, Radiology to be exact, and spent her career as a Mammographer and Radiology Technologist at Rex Hospital, which she later retired from. Even after retirement, she continued working and was the beverage host at Sheetz.
Her grandchildren and daughter were her world. She loved cooking, baking, reading, the ocean, writing, the smell of rain, music, dancing, and being around people. She was a free spirit and was often the life of the party. Her smile lit up a room, and she had a way of making people feel good. She will be remembered by her encouragement, her smile, laughter, and empathy.
She leaves behind a daughter, Lindsey Williams of Asheville, NC; two grandsons, Kai and Micah; a brother Michael (Wendy) Bowling of Danville, Virginia; a niece, Blaire (Scott) Allen of Blairs, Virginia, a nephew Ross (Raquel) Bowling of Charlotte, North Carolina; a God daughter Yvette Wright of Hampstead, North Carolina; Uncle Doug (Joseph) Lewis of Los Angeles, California; Louis (Julia) Rowland of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and countless friends who indeed became her family.
She is preceded in death by her father Millard Jack Bowling, mother Lois Elaine Bowling, and her brother Steven Millard Bowling.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to REX Healthcare Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
