Norma Jean Littleton passed away on October 19th, 2014 after a long illness. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She was born November 29th, 1946 in Manchester, Ohio to Charles Raymond and Hester Fannin Messer; who both preceded her in death.
Norma enjoyed crafting, baking and sharing both with her grandchildren. She collected recipes, cookbooks and loved her Anri woodcarvings. She looked forward to the NC State Fair every year, where she would work in the Livestock Office.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Gene Littleton; her three children, Stephanie R. Freas and her husband, Michael Freas of Hope Mills, NC; Michael G. Littleton, Jr. and his wife, Cathy Littleton of Oxford, NC; and Laura K. Haag and her husband, Adam Haag of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Terence Freas, Brandon Freas, Michael Freas, Jr, Nicole Freas, Cassidy Littleton, William Littleton, and Ridley Haag; and her great-grandchild Isaiah Freas.
She is also survived by her sister, Marianne Bean of Morrow, OH; and her brother, Andrew Messer of Syracuse, NY.
Norma was both loving and loved. She left us way too soon, but she will not soon leave our hearts or minds. Our memories of her will be happy ones and we can find peace in the knowledge that her pain has ended.
She has gone now to rest; leaving wonderful memories in her place.
A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
