On September 18, 1965, Pam married the love of her life, John Kowalski, in Lincoln, Nebraska. They began their life together in Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, before settling in Vinton, Iowa. It was there that Pam served as a beloved children's librarian and where she and John made many lifelong friends. Her passion for books and reading continued after their move to Texas in 1992, where she remained a dedicated librarian. Pam was a woman of quiet hobbies, finding joy in the intricate patterns of crochet and needlework and getting lost in the pages of a good book.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John, who passed away on February 7, 2014; her parents, Maynard and Martha; and her nephew, Richard Schwarzenbach.
Pam’s memory will be cherished by her loving daughters, Mia Morgan and her husband Shawn of Macungie, Pennsylvania, and Molly McKay and her husband Mark of Cary, North Carolina. She also leaves behind her two grandsons, Cian and Colin McKay, who brought immense joy to her later years. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald Schwarzenbach and his wife Nancy, and Dick Schwarzenbach and his wife Deb. She will be missed by her niece, Lindy Kurtzer and her husband Dale, and her nephew, Mitch Schwarzenbach and his wife Rhonda.
In honor of Pam and her late husband, a joint memorial service for John and Pam Kowalski will be held at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska.
