He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas A. Eaker Sr. He is survived by his mother, Lena Smith Eaker of Apex; brothers, Douglas Jr., Gregory (Peggy), and Russell (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Friday, December 19, 2014 starting at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Salvation Army or First United Methodist Church Cary.
