If you were fortunate to know Phyllis, you'd know she was from Queens within the first 3 minutes of meeting her. Phyllis was famous for always making time for people who needed her help.
Her advice was always from the heart, and she held nothing back when giving it. Her husband Danny would often tell her "do what you want that makes you happy." That was her ultimate advice for others as well.
Her love of crochet was her gift that allowed her to make blankets which she gifted to friends and family so they could always have a part of her to hold on to when she could not be with them.
The greatest loves of her life were her children and her grandson, Dominic. Phyllis would want everyone reading this to remember the joyful moments shared together.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Heidicorn Healey and son, Daniel Joseph Macchia.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel Thomas Macchia; daughter, Sharon Macchia Spyrison and her husband, Thomas Nicholas Spyrison; and grandson, Dominic Constantine Spyrison.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
