So sorry to hear about Ray's passing.  I will remember him for his sense of humor, infectious smile, and bellowing "Let's Go Orange!" chants that he would give to let my dad, myself, and Uncle Bob know where he was waiting for us in the Dome at SU home games.  I enjoyed spending time with him at Selkirk family reunions, and appreciate your presence at our wedding on Long Island.  He also expanded my mastery of the Polish language--"babshi" for Grandma.  Before that, I only knew "svenya" for pig.  I enjoyed hearing stories of the cousins when they were younger, and of the family elders.  Ray will be missed, and has no doubt touched many lives and spread humor and happiness along the way.  With Love, Brian and Stephanie Reilly and children.

My regrets and condolences go to you on the loss of Ray.  My memories of Ray go back to the early 60's at Syracuse University where I attended various mechanical engineering classes with Ray.  He was always friendly and outgoing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this terrible time.  Ray was always so happy, singing "oh what a beautiful morning" or "to the good life" as he meandered outside.  I enjoyed trading book lists with him.  He also had a great heart, offering many times to take out Soffie or the foster dogs when I was at work (and if Soffie would quit biting people, I would have taken him up on it).  Although the last few months even Soffie starting going to Ray for a little pet on the head. And he always asked about my Mother and her health, regardless of what was going on with him.  A good man with a big heart who loved his family and his bride dearly.

We have so many wonderful memories of the fun we all had together! Sometimes we laughed til we cried-more often than not. Not sure if heaven is ready for all the fun to come. It was an honor and a privilege to have known you. You have touched many lives, and we are all better off for it. You were a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, co-worker, mentor, teacher -- and the list goes on. But to me nothing describes you better than friend. In each of your roles you gave yourself 100 percent. You always had a positive outlook on life. I can remember days in the engineering offices on Erie Blvd. when the place didn't come alive until you walked in the door, usually singing "To the good life, to be free . . . "

And I've heard you have already been stirring things up in heaven. Word has it your first conversation with the Lord went something like:

"Remember when you said 'Let there be light'"
"Yes . . . yes I do my son."
"And then you created the first nuclear power plant, the sun, to generate that light."
"Yes, quite clever, if I say so myself."
"Well . . . I think you could have improved the fuel utilization of the sun if you would have . . . "

To the good life, Ray. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

Carol and family, please accept our sincere condolences at this time of tragedy. We met you and Ray shortly after moving in the neighborhood a few months after you, and Ray was one of the first with a big "welcome". As with most "retires", Ray and I would retrieve the mail almost as soon as it was delivered, Ray would see me on the porch looking through the mail and walk over an offer to help me sign up for unlimited sales flyers an coupons. Always willing to help those less fortunate. Gonna miss ya, big guy.

Ray's obit jumped out at me as I scanned the page at breakfast. "Oh, no!" I cried out, and my wife asked what was the matter. I explained. 
It was such a pleasure to spend time with you three over the last several months and to get to know Ray's background, grit, and wonderful sense of humor.
I know you will miss him terribly. While on earth he was a super guy; he still is.

Ray was one of a kind. I remember him from the early Nine Mile Point 1 days 1967 to 1977. We worked together as reactor engineers and had a blast. He will be missed but we do have great memories.

I was secretary to the Exec VP of Nuclear for many years (now retired) and remember Ray well. He was a great guy. I'll always remember how he kept his driver's door on his car shut with a bungee cord! He was a character and fun to work with. I send my condolences to you and your family. I lost my husband to lung cancer after a long fight on Sept. 20, 2010 and I know how you feel.

I knew Ray for almost 60 years and was blessed to meet up with him and Peter Parrillo and their wives last summer, 52 years after graduation. We had some good times at Central High, but my fondest memories are of Ray and Johnny Matthews walking down from Skunk City and hanging out on my side porch when we lived on Shonnard. God speed, Ray.

Ray and I were classmates at Syracuse Central High. He was the  greatest guy and I was so happy to see him on his visit in Syracuse. I am so sorry about his illness and that it shortened his life.

I was so sorry to hear of Ray's passing.  Ray was one of my first supervisors at Nine Mile Point in the 70's.
I should say one of my favorite supervisors.  I have many great memories of the old gang.
 
Ray worked with my dad, one of the original operators of the plant and always had great things to say about him back then.
 
It was a few years ago when I got to see Ray by chance in Syracuse.  I'm glad I have that memory.
 
Please give my sympathy to his family and friends.  He still had many friends here in Oswego.

Although we are in a state of shock our hearts and minds are sad and lonely for the family, especially Carol. We knew this was inevitable but lived in joyful hope for a better outcome. 

Ray was a dynamo of energy, wit, and charm with a heart of gold and generosity for all the world.  He always made me laugh and our talks on religion were often fascinating and curious, as I often wondered if he was putting me on since he was such a bright fellow.

We are in Houston, returning evening of Feb 14. I will  be in touch when we return. We will miss the service and mass for friends and family to send Ray off with grace, dignity and peace to his place of eternal rest. 

 May his peace and freedom from suffering bring each of you peace.

Haven't seen Ray in 53 or more years.   I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing.  We went to Central High together, and I remember him as smart and funny and kind.
