Robert was born on March 3rd, 1931, in Glens Falls, New York, to the late Reginald and Gladys Verona Coon Clayton.
Robert was a brilliant physicist and optical engineer with many patents. He also had a passion for music and teaching.
Robert is survived by his wife Joan and their 4 children and spouses:
Robert and Linda Clayton of Corvallis, CA, Nancy Clayton and & Eng Seng Loh of Dunlap, OH,
Susan and Robert Schule of Cary, NC and Daniel and Fernanda Casey of Fairfield, CT
and 6 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 1st, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.
