Robert Earl Stephenson

Bob and his loving wife Katie enjoyed 61 great years of marriage, raising a close-knit and loving family that hates to see him go but praises God that his suffering has ended.

Bob was born and raised in Fuquay-Varina. NC. He graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School and Hoiles Business College. He later attended UNC-Chapel Hill.

Bob served in the US Army during the Korean War and later built a career in radio engineering (as a radio station owner) and ultimately in petroleum services at Cary Oil Company. Bob served in numerous leadership roles at Athens Drive Baptist Church in Raleigh, and as a deacon at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary.

Bob was predeceased by a daughter Susan Stephenson, who passed away in 1969 at the age of 6. He is survived by his wife Katie; son Robert and his wife Cindy of Raleigh; grandson Brooks, his wife Carrie and their daughter Aleah of Clayton; and grandson Bryan and wife Sarah of Fuquay-Varina.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Colonial Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 at 2 p.m. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
