Russell Mizell

Russell Mizell, 76, of Cary, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. “Bunk” was a dedicated Shriner and a member of the Sudan Shrine Center and the Amran Shrine Center. He served for many years as the Director of the Sudan Convertibles. Russell retired from the R.J. French Company.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Betty Mizell; two daughters, Mary Russell Sweat and husband, Carlis, Fran Barry and husband, Patrick; sister, Etles White; six grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Sweat, Kevin, Carson, Christopher and Mary Barry; three step-children, David Smith and wife, Donna, Beth Reilly and husband, Scott, Sally Barnhardt and husband, Boyd; six step-grandchildren, Stephen and Kenan Smith, Tom and Isabella Zaliagiris, Parks and Samantha Barnhardt.

Russell was preceded in death by one grandson, Kenneth Barry.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (send to either Sudan Shrine Center or Amran Shrine Center).
