Sabra Scott Watts

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Moultrie B. Watts. Sabra’s passion in life was raising her children and sharing that same love and guidance with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Holt Fairfield Watts and his wife Judy; Shelton Koger Watts and his wife Carol; Laura Watts Davenport and her husband Bill; and Deborah Watts Burdette and her husband Danny. All are residents of Cary, North Carolina.

Sabra, lovingly called “Sasa,” is also survived by nine grandchildren: Brian and wife Karen, Brandon and wife Candice, Cameron and wife Leslie, Dylan, David, Sarah, Amanda and husband Kevin, Erin and Patrick and wife Claudia. Her eight great-grandchildren included Alyssa, Garrett, Holt, Chase, Watts, Nathan, Alicia and Daniel. Another great-grandchild, Reynold, is expected at any time.

She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Wilson of Martinsville, Virginia.

Sabra was a native of Martinsville, Virginia. She obtained an Associate Degree in Business. She and Moultrie were married in in 1953 and soon established their home in Cary where she and her family developed many lifelong friendships.

Sabra was active in community services, belonging to the Junior Women’s Club, helping establish Cary’s first library and volunteering for over twenty years at the Cary Dorcas Shop. She always enjoyed helping others, including in her later years “assisting” the care givers at Brookdale of Cary. Sabra and her husband, Moultrie, were founding members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cary.

Memorial services will be on 4:00 PM on Thursday, December 20 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary with visitation to follow the service.
