Steve was born February 16, 1973 in Asheboro, NC and attended Apex High School. Steve was an avid and extremely talented craftsman. There are many who thought he was born to be a carpenter. He began his lifelong work in construction when he was 17 years old and eventually began his own company, Steve Moore Construction. He received many accolades for his work as well as awards specifically for his work with Trex decking. His attention to detail and desire for perfection on a job made his completed work extraordinary. Steve also loved working on vehicles and could fix just about anything. Tinkering was a lifelong habit. Among other activities, Steve loved getting together with friends and cooking out. He especially loved a day (or weekend) out at Jordan Lake. Steve was loved by many, both family and friends.
Steve is survived by his two sons, Dylan and Gavin of Cary; his mother Shannon and stepfather and Bob Zippay of Hyco Lake; his father Terry and stepmother Debbie Moore of Holly Springs; his brother Terry, Jr. (his wife Thea and niece Ada) of Chevy Chase, Maryland; his brother Michael (Mike) of Knightdate; his ex-wife Liz of Cary; and his stepsister Tara (her husband Andy and their children Lily and Graham) of Apex; as well as other extended family members.
Steve was a kind, compassionate and caring person. Steve will be missed terribly, but we all look forward to the time we are reunited through Christ. Steve gave his life to Jesus Christ when he was a young boy and we know he is with our Lord and Savior in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for the college funds of Steve’s boys can be made at State Employees Credit Union which is still pending.
