Sue Flowers Bell

Sue (Suzie) Flowers Bell, a native of Cary, passed away on January 20, 2026. Suzie was born on April 22, 1958, to James Howard and Sue Flowers.

After graduating from Cary High School in 1976, Suzie went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Business Administration, specifically accounting. She belonged to Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and was a lifelong member of Delta Sigma Pi.

Suzie began her accounting career at KPMG Pete Marwick in Charlotte and then on to Ernst and Young. As a CPA she was a Controller at General Textile Printing and Processing Corporation in Rocky Mount, 1989 -1997. Suzie continued her expertise as a Controller at Century Data Systems in Raleigh which brought her back to Cary to live. After moving back to Cary, Suzie met John Grainger, Jr., the love of her life.

Suzie was pre-deceased by her parents, Howard and Sue Flowers, and John Grainger. Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Leigh Hall and her husband Lonnie Hall and their precious daughter Mary Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, dav.org. Suzie was led by her heart to donate to this organization yearly.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, January 29th, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Brown Wynne of Cary.
