Our sweet Sue left us, Monday, May 11, 2015. She was sleeping peacefully and comfortable at the end. For that, we are forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Transitions LifeCare. We’re heartbroken, but thankful she was finally at ease after her long, exhausting battle with Lewy Body Dementia. She left us much too soon, but weren’t we all lucky to have known her and loved her while we did.
Born in Jacksonville, FL to Theron and Alice Peacock, Sue was raised in Nahunta, NC. She was a graduate of Rex School of Nursing. Sue spent 40 years in nursing and a lifetime nurturing her family and her friends. Some of Sue’s favorite things included back rubs, chocolate ice cream, lazy drives in the country, a perfectly fit pair of jeans, and hot dogs with mustard, chili, and slaw.
Sue was the beloved wife of Mike Mossman; mother of Dawn Cochran and her husband, John, of Westlake, TX, Tricia Kinney of Raleigh, and Ed Summers and his wife, Kimberly, of Cary; sister to Ted Peacock and his wife, Heidi; much loved grandmother to Leah Kinney, Jacob Kinney, Hunter Cochran, Shepard Summers, and River Summers; and treasured aunt to Rob Peacock and Laura Peacock.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Sue to Transitions LifeCare (formerly Hospice of Wake County), transitionslifecare.org, or Alzheimers North Carolina, Inc., alznc.org.
The family would like to thank you for your support, prayers, and kind words.
