Danno “Tom” Mack, 80 of Cary, NC, passed away November 13, 2025
He was born in Syracuse NY on March 22, 1945, to Col. Daniel D. Mack and AnnMarie Henry Mack. He was married to his loving wife Sheila Colby Mack for 52 years.
He was a graduate of Xaverian High School in Brooklyn NY; received his BS from Syracuse University and his MBA from American University, Washington, DC.
Tom began his career with IBM in Kingston, NY in computer networking. He advanced his career with the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC; Harris Corporation in Florida; GE in Rockville MD and returned to IBM in Stamford Ct transferring to RTP in 1999.
In 1996, he was called to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church while residing in Connecticut finishing his formation in June of 2000. Most recently he has been assigned to Our Lady of Lourdes in Raleigh, NC.
He was involved in the Eucharist Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, Marriage Preparation, Support Group in addition to assisting at weekend Mass. He worked with Yoke Fellows Ministry in Butner NC and was also active with Habitat for Humanity including several trips to Honduras.
He was predeceased by his parents and his half-brother.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; his sons James Mack Angel and John Patrick Mack (Nicole); eight grandchildren-Gabriel, Uriah, Riley, Ayla, Noah, Delaney, Azriel and Benjamin, several nieces and one great niece, Margaret.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat of Humanity or a charity of your choice.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 2718 Overbrook Drive, Raleigh, NC 27608.
The Rosary will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating the life of Decon Tom Mack.
