William H. Lindsay, August 7, 1948 - January 21, 2025, Bill grew up in the small town of Coupeville, Washington on Whidby Island, to Warren and Dorothy Greenshield Lindsay. Four boys were born with Chuck being the oldest and then Bill. Their mom contacted Polio in her legs and 2 years later had two more sons, Ron and Ralph.
Bill attended Skagit Valley College, in Mount Vernon, Washington with a 2-year degree in Electronics and then joined the US Navy where he enjoyed a 10-year tour of Submarine service on the USS Ethan Allen. He then met the love of his life, Faye Conner. Bill knew he was headed to Guam with a stopover in Hawaii and proposed to her by saying, “if you want to go to Hawaii you will have to marry me” and now 51 years later life is still good.
Together they raised two sons, Patrick who married Missy Nix with two grandsons, Jonas and Carter. And Randy who married Annette Wilson who gave them Mary, the first granddaughter. Bill and Faye have been able to make many memories with family vacations from the mountains to the coast.
Bill has always been mission minded with wanting to share what he and Faye had and to help others have a good Christmas as well. He would have his boys to find three gifts they would like for Christmas, then Bill and Faye would buy those gifts and give them to someone who would need a fun Christmas. The family was then given the option of going and delivering the presents to the families, which showed the boys what gift giving really means. The family would also take part in shoveling coal into bags and stacking wood and giving this out to people in need. Showing his family want it meant to give back to those in need.
The next adventure took them to Reynosa, Mexico to help build a church which they continued to return and work for 3 years. Bill and Faye met Missionaries living in Canada and made many trips there and were on the receiving end of meeting some wonderful new friends of different tribes of Native Americans.
The most important trip Bill made was a 3-day weekend to what was known as the Emmaus Walk. Although he and Faye had been involved in the church for many years, neither one had come to truly meet the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On Sunday night when Bill returned, Faye saw something in him that she had never seen. There was a special glow about him and that told her that whatever had happened to Bill was something that she needed as well. Having gone through this transformation and acceptance didn't change them on the outside so much, but it helped with the way that Bill and Faye now saw the world.
With their boys grown and out of the house it was time for a new adventure, so after Bill retired, he sold his motorcycle and bought a camper and set out for adventure to fulfill the bucket list of traveling to all 50 states and this also included 16 countries.
Bill accomplished so many exciting adventures; hot air balloon ride, zip lining, motorcycling trips, a biplane ride, scuba diving, riding in race cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway, climbing Gladstone Mountain in Canada, seeing some of the most beautiful sites in the great country of America. We take comfort in knowing that he is now living the rest of his life sitting, singing, laughing at the feet of Jesus, where there is no pain just Glory.
