

David Allen Woodson, 76, passed away leaving behind a legacy of storytelling, friendship, service, and deep love for his family. David was born on October 5, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona, and spent his childhood growing up in Glendale, Arizona. He later planted roots in Laveen before settling in Maricopa, where he built a life surrounded by family, friends, and community.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service reflected his strong sense of duty, courage, and commitment to something greater than himself—values that remained evident throughout his life.
When he returned from Vietnam, David became an electrician and joined IBEW Local 640. He loved working as an electrician and took great pride in his trade until his retirement.
David was a devoted father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his son, John Carl Woodson, and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his daughter, Christian Woodson. David was married to Pat Kardos, with whom he built a loving blended family that included stepchildren Kristin Grissom and her husband Kevin Grissom, and Timothy Glenn and his wife Holly.
David cherished his role as a grandfather to Baylee, Paige, and Kash Grissom; Koby, Kaden, and Treyson Glenn; and Shae and Caleb Woodson. Each of his grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy.
David had a passion for roping and spent countless hours enjoying the western lifestyle he loved. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his close friends and family. Known for his outgoing personality, David never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and always seemed to have a story ready to share—often bringing laughter, wisdom, and lasting memories to those around him.
David will be remembered for his strong spirit, his generous heart, and his gift for storytelling. His presence will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
