Manuel spent his youth working on various farms including Gila River Farms with Charlie Murrieta and Ed Hooper. Later, he would work with Johnny Singh and Singh Farms in Casa Grande until he was left disabled from a farming accident. He never let this setback keep him from learning a new trade. He later spent countless years as an office machine repairman for Lessor's and Baker Office Supply. Even after his retirement, he was an engineer at heart and loved figuring out the mechanical aspect of things.
Manuel’s adventurous spirit led him to travel widely, and it was on a trip to Hermosillo, Mexico, where he met not only some of his dearest friends but also the love of his life, Thelma Garcia. Through their 53 years of marriage, they raised two wonderful sons, Andrew and Daniel Garcia. Manuel had a passion for westerns, cowboy boots, and cherished the moment he met his idol, John Wayne.
He was a father figure to many. Although his immediate family was small, his extended family was immense and yet he made everyone feel special and always took time to talk to you with his undivided attention. He was deeply adored by his loved ones and revered by all who knew him. Manuel was the Godfather to countless nieces, nephews, and friends, but his greatest love was his grandchildren. Not only his own, but all of those who adopted him as an honorary "Tata".
Manuel will be forever remembered for his kindness, unwavering dedication to family, and the warmth he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Manuel is survived by his wife Thelma Garcia, Two sons; Andrew (Rebecca), Daniel (Jennifer) Garcia, and Four grandchildren; Joshua, Amanda, Jordan, and Jacob.
Manuel is preceded in death by both his parents, and additional family members; Cornelio Garcia, Oscar Garcia, Gilbert (Betty) Garcia, Ophelia (Albert) Amaro, Josephina (Salvador) Guzman, and Edelia (Tom) Soto.
