

Raymond was born on March 8, 1947 in Leesville, Louisiana to parents Ralph and Emma Wead. Raymond received the gift of the Holy Ghost at 15 and entered the ministry at 16 years of age. Raymond’s passion for ministry began in Louisiana, Alabama, and Michigan before moving to Arizona where he pastored three home mission churches in Wilcox (3yrs), Superior (10yrs), and Winslow (15yrs). Raymond also served as the Foreign Missions Director for the Arizona District UPCI for 17 years. In 2010 Raymond along with wife , Terry moved to Arizona City to be near family and attended Apostolic Tabernacle of Casa Grande . Raymond also ministered as a prison volunteer at the Eloy Detention Center.
Raymond is survived by Edda Hoffpauir (sister), Ralph Wead (brother), Evelyn Herrington (sister), and Merrilyn Goodlow (sister)— wife Terry Wead, sons Kevin Wead, Maila Wead daughter-in-law, Shawn Wead, Missy Wead daughter-in-law,and granddaughter Brooke Wead .
Those who knew Raymond will remember him as a prankster with a great sense of humor who loved his family and friends . A man who was steadfast in his faith, serving others for 62 years in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. A funeral will be held on January 15, 2026 at [10am-viewing, 11am-service] at First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande 702 E Cottonwood Ln
