

Victor Gaines, widely known by his affectionate nicknames "Big Vic," "Big Daddy," and "Luther," passed away on April 21, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on November 5, 1963, in Casa Grande, Arizona, Victor lived a life marked by his vibrant personality and his love of engaging and friendly competition.
Victor was a man of many interests, finding joy in the company of family and friends through games and pastimes that brought laughter and spirited rivalry. He delighted in playing cards, dominoes, and rolling dice, as well as participating in activities such as bowling and mini-golf. His enthusiasm for these games reflected a broader love for friendly challenge, which was central to his interactions with those around him.
Beyond the tabletop and the lanes, Victor enjoyed watching movies, particularly westerns, and was an avid fan of NBA basketball, especially admiring the talents of LeBron James. These pastimes provided a glimpse into his passions and were a source of relaxation and entertainment throughout his life.
Victor’s enduring legacy is reflected in the deep bonds he shared with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved children: Corey Gaines, Andre Gaines, Vanessa Hall, Adaisha Gaines, and Trenton Thomas. His parents, Hurbert Gaines and Wanda L. McNary. His siblings who carry forward his memory are Willie Beechum, Yolonda Clark, Dorshell King, Tyrone Gaines, Darren Gaines, Jamal Gaines, Jesse Gaines, and Keylee Gaines. Victor was also a cherished grandfather to 19 grandchildren and proud great-grandfather to one great grandchild, all of whom will continue to celebrate his life and spirit.
Among his dear friends who stood by him are Angela Gaines, Denise Ayers, and Monica McDowell, whose companionship and support were invaluable.
Victor is preceded in death by his brother little Brandon Gaines.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 1100 E Trinity Pl, Casa Grande, AZ 85122, US, on May 15, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location starting at 10:30
A Committal Service will take place at Mt View Cemetery, 15506 W Skyway Ave, Casa Grande, AZ 85193, US, on May 15, 2026, following the service.
