Mom, Eliezer Bravo, 95 years old, died on July 3rd in Orlando. We appreciate your love, prayers and support during these difficult days. Mom’s faith was the foundation to her being and only grew stronger with time. First of all she’s known by several names. First of all she was Mami to her children, Cher to family and Eli to friends and finally “Mi Amor” to Pop. She grew up during the depression era where life was hard and with help from family, neighbors and friends she survived and thrived. Mom fell in love with Pop in San Juan and had Betty and Frankie. George came in the belly when they went to NY. Robert and Charlie followed. She showed her thoughtfulness to others with open arms and a plate of food to anyone who came. Mom was a great teacher of tenacity and following through on what had to be done. She set rules but also let the kids live their lives to learn those lessons only life teaches. My fondest memories are of our parents working the bodegas in NY. Pop being the sales guy and mom making sure the books were in order. The perfect combination to run a business. Later in life they found their way to Florida where they made new friends and found their church family. I never met a more loving couple than Mami and Papi. They adored each other. Mom could not wait to be with her loving Viejo, who passed 20 years earlier, and so they are together for ever in gods glory.
