Dr. Reichheld was born in Brighton, Massachusetts on February 10, 1955, the eldest child of Robert and Anita (Couture) Reichheld. From the age of twelve, she attended Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Newton, Massachusetts. After high school, Pam began her studies at Fairfield University where she earned her BS in Physics and graduated with honors in 1976.
Dr. Reichheld graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1980 and began her internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut shortly thereafter. After completing her residency in anesthesiology at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Dr. Reichheld accepted a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Tufts, where she provided anesthesia for the first liver transplant performed in New England.
Throughout her career, Dr. Reichheld served on the medical and academic staffs of several leading medical centers, including Tufts New England, Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, Yale-New Haven Hospital, and the University of Florida Shands Jacksonville Hospital. She was consistently recognized by her peers as an outstanding clinician, capable of handling the most difficult surgical cases. In the latter part of her career, she worked in private practice at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
A loving and dedicated mother, Pam enjoyed spending time with her three children and attended every baseball game, piano recital, and art show with a camera in tow. She was particularly fond of traveling with her children and journeyed with them to France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, the United Kingdom, and many places in North America.
Pam was a skilled equestrienne and a fearless skier, a result of her early years in New England. Her various interests included European history, mathematics, reading, dancing, and cooking. While in Castle Rock, she enjoyed many connections with her friends and neighbors. She remained active at her local church and often volunteered her time to those in need. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, especially David “Big Papi” Ortiz, and was equally dedicated to her many dogs.
Dr. Reichheld is survived by her sons, James Trippe and Douglas Trippe; her daughter, Marta Trippe; her former spouse, Charles Trippe; and her five siblings, Susan Kreuter, Karen Gill, Jane Gretchen Clark, Robert J. Reichheld, and Deborah Bannon. She will be interred with her parents in Saint Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich, Rhode Island on April 23, 2022.
A Memorial Service for Pam will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy in East Greenwich, RI.
