Bennie/Mark Lee passed quietly Sunday, February 6 with Home Hospice. Born to Mark and Veva (Carter) Lee in Denver on January 18, 1932. He graduated from Denver South High School, he was a Marine and served in the Korean Conflict, retired as a detective after 28 year with the Denver Police Department, and then started the Animal Cruelty Department at the Denver Dumb Friends League. He will be remembered locally as a long time coach of youth football, baseball, and basketball. He was a competitor and an avid golfer. Married to Sharon (Tellier) from Iowa for 49 years. Children are Cheryl Stoumbaugh (Mike), Mark (Christy), and Doug (Diane). 10 grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Mark, Christopher, Celina, Betsy, Cody, Maddie, Emmie, and Zachary. 1 great-grandson, Jacob, and sister Luella Flores. Interment will be at Fort Logan Cemetery. A gathering of friends will be held Sunday, February 13, 1:00-3:00pm at Olinger Mortuary in Castle Rock. Please come.
