She had been married to Robert T. Van Pelt for 45 years. She retired with honors as the Clerk of the Douglas County Courts. She and Bob owned and operated Castle Rock Feed for 30 years. They shared equal devotion to Douglas County 4-H Club, in the Extension office and ASC.
She is survived by her brother Bobbi (Joanie) House; her sons, Robb Van Pelt and Ronald (Margy) Van Pelt; four grandchildren, Gus Van Pelt, Bobbi (Ty) Shafer, Beau and Turner Van Pelt; three great-grandchildren, Torrie and Tanner Van Pelt and Peyton Shafer.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2011 at St. Philips In The Field Episcopal Church in Sedalia, CO. Interment was in Bear Canon Cemetery in Sedalia.
