Betty Ann Grant

Betty Ann Grant, age 89, of Greenwood Village, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023. She was born on March 27, 1934 in Lima Center, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl Schrank and Bernice Sellnow Schrank. Betty married Charley Grant in 1953 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage together before his passing in 2008.

Betty grew up on the family farm in a small town in Wisconsin. It was during high school where she met her future husband. Betty was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Castle Rock. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling – her favorite destination was Kauai, and tending to her garden and plants. Betty will be remembered for her smile and her “chit-chats” with everyone.

Betty is survived by her children Kim (Kyle) Martin of Larkspur and Shelly (Dave) Heredia of Van Nuys, CA; grandchildren Joshua (Jessica) Martin of Maple Hill, NC, Jennifer (Nick) Katz of Centennial, CO, Mark (Leilani) Heredia of Spokane, WA, Jared Martin of Gunnison, CO, Nick (Nayely) Heredia of Mission Hills, CA, and Jacob (Dana) Martin of El Paso, TX; great grandchildren Loralei Martin, Emelynn Martin, Sophia Chavez, Oliver Heredia, Mia Heredia, and Charlee Katz; her brothers Richard (Jan) Schrank of St. Charles, IL and Stanley (Marian) Schrank of Reedsburg, WI; and her sister-in-law Karen (Craig) Hummel of Oregon IL.

According to Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held later this spring, with inurnment to follow at Bear Canon Cemetery.
