Brian was born in Davenport, Iowa to John and Frances Martin. He has five siblings: Frank, Mollie Kling, Bob, Joanne Strang and Lori Morris. Brian married Brenda in 1981 and they were privileged to enjoy over 31 years of marriage. They have six wonderful children: Brett, Blake, Brady, Ben, Brooke and Brice.
His education consisted of a Bachelor of Arts, Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Doctor of Chiropractic. Brian could be classified as a perpetual student as he continued his education and became proficient in acupuncture and mind/body medicine, along with many other forms of treatment. He was an expert in many areas and thousands of people have benefitted from his gift of healing.
He maintained a private chiropractic practice since 1983. In addition, he had the opportunity to serve as a professional coach and team doctor for the Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse Team in Denver. Brian also served on the Board of Directors at Rock Solid High School for eight years.
A true joy to Brian was his church. He was a founding member of the Metro Church (now Sanctuary Christian Fellowship) in 1986 and served faithfully in leadership throughout all these years. He experienced such joy in serving on the Panama Mission Team and taking his healing skills to the impoverished people of Panama. His life was characterized by service. He had a genuine love for people as well as the gift and desire to connect with anyone. When you talked to Brian, you walked away knowing you were special.
The greatest legacy that Brian leaves is his wonderful family. He was an amazing dad who imparted the important things in life on his children. He taught them to live life God’s way. Generations to come will be in heaven because of him. It seems that sometimes the best of people are taken too soon. We will never understand why but we can rest assured that God has wrapped His arms around Brian in heaven and said,
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
